The Euro rate rose against the U.S. Dollar after French
President, Nicolas Sarkozy, and German Chancellor, Angela Merkel,
met in Berlin and issued a statement suggesting the rulebook to
obtain closer fiscal unity will be completed one month earlier than
expected. The 17-nation currency pared gains later in the day
against the U.S. currency on
